Why do Many Blogs Fail? Case Study

On average, 90 percent of new blogs fail every year. But what is the reason behind these all failures? Once, I heard that one of the popular SEO experts on the internet say that it’s because of the lack of content and the quality of the content. Yes, but this true only for a blog with very few articles. However, I’ve seen many blogs, with hundreds of posts, and still getting almost no traffic from Google.

If the blog has quality content, it should get traffic. The content is the damn KING. Right? NO. Even you have great content, if nobody is reading it, google never ranks you up. So there are some common factors that we think Google is concern about, and we should worry about those factors when writing an article.

And one of the factors is that the competition. If you search “Dropshipping” on Google, you’ll find hundreds of quality articles, with thousands of backlinks. If you write the best Dropshipping article, among all of them, even you have the best quality content, you won’t get much traffic.

Before I make this confusing to you, I’ll break down the reasons one by one.

My Experiment with High Competition Keywords

As the “Dropshipping” keyword, “SEO” and “Blogging” are even more competitive keywords. As a blogger for few years, my first attempt on these two keywords failed without making justice to my dedication. Now I’m doing this Entrepreneurship blog and slowly try to get some traffic from those high-demand keywords. But it’s really difficult, and I don’t think that I would be successful in the short term, but I have a goal to archive within few years.

Look at the Google search results for the title of this article,

This is more likely to be not successful since this is the current status of my new blog.

You can ask, “James, why are you writing this article, even you think it will be very difficult to rank among the top 10?”

“Even for a topic with less than 50 searches a month?”

This where most of the SEO specialists are wrong. If this topic is a stupid one, why does SEO giants try to write articles like this? Think for few seconds.

This is all because this type of article is clickbait. Once you share this type of article on social media, you get some traffic. Even the article is not doing great from a search engine perspective, it’s working well.

Lesson: Like most bloggers, don’t write articles targeting only the keywords. Especially if you’re targeting highly competitive keywords, Google won’t even rank your keyword. Try some alternative methods to get traffic for your article.

This is only a one of the little experimental thing that I wanted to tell you.

Ultimate Keyword Strategy

When there is a mid level competitive keyword, for example, we can take a type of dog breed. Let’s think, your blog niche is German Shepard.

Ranking in the top 10 keywords is almost impossible, because of the authority of the domains and the backlink profile which others have built for years. But can’t you make the best German Shepard blog on the internet? Yes, you can. But you have to take a different approach.

Ultimate Keyword Strategy is not a technique developed by myself, this is one of famous technique that everybody is talking about and actually works.

So, what you should do is, targeting on Low Difficulty Keywords. And you better target more about questions. As you can see. The difficulty of these keywords is low.

So you need to write articles for article-worthy questions even with keywords that have less than 50 monthly searches. As your blog ranks no 1 for these small keywords, your authority to rank for German Shepard increases.

After a year or two, you will have the opportunity to take the place of the ultimate keyword, “German Shepard”. That’s how you can win mid-level competitive keywords in long run using the Ultimate Keyword Strategy.

Lesson: A lot of people mistaken this and write articles for every stupid keyword. Google sees this type of content as spammy. Always write worthy articles. People are not searching for content on the exact titles. Try to understand their intentions and write articles.
